The N228-E-M1-C3 is a single-row cylinder bearing with N design. The inner ring has two rigid ribs, while the outer ring has none. As a result, N bearings are only capable of supporting radial forces. This bearing type is commonly used as a floating bearing. Floating bearings allow axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing in both directions.
