1.2 |
Application |
These bearings shall be suitable for jitter free operation of 25 rpm(inner race revolving)under an axial pre-load of 100N±10N in face to face(DF)mounting. Operating is -10° to +70° C under hard vacuum of more than 10⁻⁶ torr and shall be suitable for spacecraft application of more than 10 years life without degradation in performance |

Visual inspection and Wettability test |
Inner race, outer race and cage ball pockets are to be inspected under 30X magnification for defects like pits, dents, Brinell marks, scratches, burrs, foreign particles poorly bonded particles etc. The critical areas(contact area) shall not have any defects mentioned above. Rings and balls are to be checked for Wettability after Passivation and TCP treatment. It shall be ensure that the rings and balls are highly wettable by maintaining proper chemical cleanliness.

9 |
Torque testing |
All assembled bearing pairs shall be tested for low speed torque trace. The torque shall be low (250gmcm maximum per pair) and uniform with least hash width(less than 20% of mean torque) Test Conditions: · Shaft axis of the pair to be vertical · Rotating inner ring · Rotating speed : 2rpm · Addition axial load on the preloaded pair : 50N approximately In both directions of rotation, one revolution in clock-wise and one revolution in counter clockwise shall be traced and supplied |
10 |
Packaging |
Each bearing shall be individually packed in envelope with excess lubricant. Package shall be suitable for long term storage. |
