On Feb. 24, Wu Qixiu, the Vice Secretary of City Party Committee and the Mayor of Xiangtan met the delegation led by Roger W. Lindsay, the President of Asia-Pacific Region of U.S. Timken---the global third bearing manufacturer and U.S. Top 500 Fortune Company at Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd (XEMC). Roger W. Lindsay visited Xiangtan was to enhance the strategic cooperation with XEMC in the new industries such as wind power and nuclear energy, etc.

Wu Qixiu has warmly welcomed the U.S. guest and expressed his gratitude to Timken Company as the company chose Xiangtan, cooperated with XEMC and jointly established Timken Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing (Hunan) Co., Ltd, built up the largest wind power bearings manufacturer in China, and was dedicated to develop the new energy industry in Xiangtan. Wu Qixiu made a brief introduction of the situation of the social and economic development of Xiangtan and the future development plan.

Roger W. Lindsay expressed his gratitude to the mayor for the meeting. He introduced the development course of Timken Company and the operation of Timken Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing (Hunan) Co., Ltd. and he indicated that they will enhance the strategic cooperation with XEMC, widely supply the power transmission solutions in new energy industries and better meet the demand of renewable energy in the 21st century.
