Recently, Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has found that imported products of 2 well-known brands don’t comply with the compulsory safety standards of our country with potential security risks in the Special Supervision and Selective Examination of Compulsory Certified Products 2016, that is one type of tires and one type of food processing machine. Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has disposed of unqualified goods in accordance with the law, and reported the situation to state. In addition, the CCC Certification of unqualified products shall be suspended by the certification institutes.
As is known to all, CCC(China Compulsory Certification) is an compulsory assessment system of product qualification carried out in accordance with the laws to protect health and safety of consumers in our country. Products listed in the compulsory product certification directory must accord with the requirement of national standards and relevant technical specifications, and shall not leave the factory, be imported and sold to China until certified and labeled with normative certification mark. Currently, there are a total of 20 categories of products required to obtain the compulsory certification, involving home appliances, toys, motor vehicles and parts, fire products etc.
There are annual 30,000 batches of imported products certified by CCC entry Xiamen Port , mainly involving information technology equipment, electrical and electronic equipment, auto parts etc. Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau supervises and selectively examines the CCC products every year in accordance with the deployment by Certification and Accreditation Administration. In 2016, products supervised and selectively examined mainly involved auto parts, toys, baby carrier, tires, kitchen appliances. A moderate amount of IT products shall also be selectively examined on the basis of the imports in Xiamen Port. There were 9 batches of imported products in total sent to compulsory certification institute for testing.
Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded that customers have to notice the CCC certification when choosing and buying imported household appliances, toys, auto parts etc, and can log in the website of Certification and Accreditation Regulatory Committee to check the authentication of products, so as to maintain their own safety.
