Wuhan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group and Tsinghua University cooperate in an one hundred million machine tool project

July 12, 2013 -- Wuhan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group Co., Ltd and Tsinghua University signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop an high-end gantry machine tool equipment with independent intellectual property rights, which is the first machine tool project where the worth of single equipment is over one hundred million yuan.

Reportedly, the equipment system consists of a high-end double gantry machine tool, multiple processing stations and other auxiliary equipment. The two gantry machine tools are designed with the same structure, and share the same set of lathe bed and working table. Once completed, this equipment will be used to process all types of complex workpieces with its functions including five-axis cooperating manufacturing, automatic detection, tool presetting, automatic tool change and tool setting, security, etc.
