WHDMT Plan to Produce World Largest Horizontal Lathe
Recently, Wuhan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group(WHDMT) signed a contract with China Erzhong to produce the largest heavy duty horizontal lathe in the world.
The lathe DL250's maximum rotating diameter is 5 meter; maximum diameter the cutter can process is 4.5 meter; maximum load the lathe can carry is 500 tons. Except the basic function of all horizontal lathe, DL250 also can be used to get workpiece with cone, curve surface as well as step shaft, screw etc.
With additional accessories, the lathe can perform as milling, grinding and boring machines. As a boring machine, DL250 can bore a hole, 3.5 meters in diameter and 8 meters in depth.
