Weimer Bearing and Transmission (USA; website) announced it has acquired Wisconsin Stamping (USA; website).
Weimer is a Wisconsin-based full-service bearing, industrial and power transmission product distributor. The Wisconsin Stamping acquisition continues Weimer Bearing's strong growth strategy, and takes it deeper into manufacturing to complement recently expanded machining capabilities.
In 2005, Weimer acquired Camken, a Rockford, Illinois industrial distributor focusing on the electrical equipment industry. Also in 2005, Weimer's facility in Wausau, Wisconsin was expanded and it opened new offices in Madison and Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Currently, Weimer Bearing has seven offices: Appleton, Eau Claire, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, Rockford and Wausau.
Weimer does offer some specialty machining services and small batch custom fabrication, but Wisconsin Stamping is its first move into high-volume heavy manufacturing.
Founded in 1958, Wisconsin Stamping manufactures a variety of precision stamped steel and nonferrous components, including stainless and thinwall rolled split and butt seam: spacers, tubes, sleeves, rings, bushings, and Raschig rings (used in fractional distillation columns). Heat treating and centerless grinding are also offered as options.
