Latest report from the American Machine Tool Distributors' Assn. (AMTDA) and the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) said the U.S.
sales of machine tool equipment and components increased 16% during November, totaled $178.83 million.
However, the consumption dropped 16.2% year-to-date in November 2008, with totaled $213.50 million at that time. The 2009 11-month total for machine tool sales reached $1,552.53 million at the end of November. That figure reveals total sales have fallen 63.4% versus the January-November 2008 total.
This is the third month seeing upward trend in manufacturing technology order values in U.S. machine tool industry.
