U.S Department of Education Representatives Visit UBC China Plant

UBC receives U.S Department of Education representatives for a visit at YuYao-based UBC-affiliated production plant. Mostly producing ball bearings, the production plant is ISO certified in quality management systems and also TS16949 certified; equipped with automated assembly lines from grinding to honing to assembly processes. Organized by the U.S Department of Education Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERS), more than 20 delegates coming from different universities across the United States have been touring several key industrial zones in China with the objective of understanding the Chinese market economic drivers and successful business models for SMEs.

The group was most impressed not only with the plant facilities, but also with the achievements of UBC in China's competitive bearing industry. In the words of Prof. Manuel Serapio, Faculty Director of CIBERs, "The lessons learned from UBC are exactly what our students should be learning about international business and competing in a global economy."

This is the second time that CIBERs has chosen UBC within their agenda since last year; the group was also lead by Mr. Ji Chen, Director for China Initiatives for the Institute of International Business for University of Colorado, Denver.
