Tsubaki Invests in Steel Ball Factory for Automotive Bearings in Chongqing

Tsubaki Hoover Co., Ltd, a global leading steel ball maker, will invest JPY 2000 Million in a new steel ball factory for automotive bearings in Chongqing. The new plant is expected to come into operation in April 2008, aiming to achieve the sales of JPY 3000 Million in 2011. The company said they planned to shift the focus on Asian market and shrunk the operation in US and European Countries.

Tsubaki Hoover Co., Ltd acquired Chongqing Steel Ball Co., Ltd in 2006, but the land and facilities are leasehold. The new plant will mainly serve the local bearing manufacturers and Japanese joint venture spares parts companies.

This new plant will share the honor of Tsubaki's second largest manufacturing base following Tsubaki Hoover (Taicang) Co., Ltd.
