Trelleborg set to Showcase Flow Control and Sealing Solutions
Trelleborg is showcasing its comprehensive suite of subsea flow control solutions and precision seals at this year’s Offshore Europe Conference and Exhibition 2013
The conference is taking place in Aberdeen, Scotland, from the 3rd to the 6th of September. Flow assurance will feature on stand 2E130 and sealing solutions will be presented on stand
Innovative sealing materials
On stand 1A109, Trelleborg will showcase its unique range of sealing solutions specifically for the offshore oil and gas industry. These will include revolutionary SealWelding technology and over 20 NORSOK approved sealing compounds.
Enabling seals to be welded in-situ on the FPSO platform, Trelleborg’s SealWelding solution allows swivel stacks to be replaced while the platform remains in operation. The result is reduced downtime and unnecessary associated costs, which are of huge benefit as lost time on offshore production facilities are calculated as one of the highest of any industry.
Henk-Willem Sanders, FPSO Focus Group Leader within Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, said: “Safety and scheduled maintenance on FPSO’s is critical, which is why we implement intensive research and development initiatives to ensure that offshore operators can meet safety standards, while improving their bottom line.”
NORSOK M-710
Meeting NORSOK standards is a hot topic in the industry. Trelleborg will present its range of 20 seal materials that support its customers in meeting the NORSOK standard. Pioneering in this area, Trelleborg offered the first NORSOK compliant perfluoroelastomer and continues to expand its range to meet the latest application requirements.
There will also be a chance to learn about Trelleborg’s high performance Wedgpak seal which offers improved elastomer stability, lower friction levels and improved extrusion resistance at higher pressures and its latest multi-contact-lip spring-energized Turcon® Variseal® – an ideal solution for fail-close subsea gate valve applications.
Flow control innovations
Located on stand 2E130 will be a number of its flow control innovations specifically designed for the subsea industry, including Vikotherm II and a new thermal insulation solution material to be launched at the show. The company’s over bend control solutions, such as bend stiffeners and restrictors will be showcased, as well as advances in popular Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) buoyancy materials. In addition, Trelleborg will present its rubber piping system, Elastopipe and its passive fire protection, including the FireStop range.
Vikotherm II
Taking center stage will be Trelleborg’s Vikotherm II, the next generation of the popular Vikotherm subsea thermal insulation material, installed successfully throughout the subsea oil and gas industry for over twenty years.
Utilizing all the benefits of the first generation solution and taking them a step further, Vikotherm II has a k-value of 0.13 W/mK, can be used down to 9,842ft/ 3,000m deep and utilized on liquid temperatures up to +311 °F/ +155 °C, as well as external temperatures as low as -31 °F/ -35 °C.
New thermal insulation material
In addition, Trelleborg will be launching a new silicone based thermal insulation material during the show and will have experts available on stand all week to discuss this exciting new material.
Sales Director within Trelleborg Offshore and Construction, John Drury, said: “Committed to extensive testing, research and development, Trelleborg has an expansive flow control product range. This means we can provide solutions that not only give optimal performance under high pressure, every time, but also ensures that we are geared up to meet the vast amount of differing applications within the subsea market.
