Top Grades for Comfort with the FAG BBRS Cadence Sensor Bottom Bracket


The FAG BBRS cadence sensor bottom bracket allows for very precise dosing of the support power from the motor with respect to time and provides the cyclist with optimum comfort in every situation.


At Eurobike 2016, Schaeffler is presenting the FAG BBRS cadence sensor bottom bracket with three connector versions. The integrated sensor conveys the direction and angle of rotation and the cadence (speed signal or pedaling frequency) at a resolution that is so high that the supporting power of the electric drive can be dosed without a noticeable delay.

The FAG BBRS cadence sensor bottom bracket exhibited conveys the pedal position (angle of rotation) and speed signal with an unusually high resolution of up to 72 pulses per revolution. This resolution ensures that dosing of the support power from the motor is very precisely defined with respect to time and therefore comfortable. Customers cannot feel the drive coasting down or any delayed deployment of the electric drive. The rider is thus provided with optimum assistance in every situation. 

With a second signal electronically phase-shifted by 90°, it is very easy to implement the forward and backward pedaling detection required according to DIN EN 15194. At Eurobike 2016, the sensor is now available with multiple connector versions, such as the 4-pole Jule plug. 

The complete bottom bracket weighs 290 g and is available with an FAG or Shimano® assembly mount. The axle of the BBRS bottom bracket is designed with a conical, 12.63 mm square shape and is available in lengths of 119 mm to 132 mm.
