Top Grade Bearing Steel Technique Project undertook by Beiman Special Steel Co., Ltd. of Dongbei Special Steel Group see dramatic breakthroughs

High grade bearing steel, one of five big strategic types, gained new achievement in the first quarter of 2011.

As the production base of Dongbei Special Steel Group, Beiman Special Steel has always focused on improving product level.

The SKF3S product certification is the main concern for both Beiman Special Steel Co., Ltd and Dongbei Special Steel Group. The company passed the product quality test in July, 2010 and was certified by quality management system in late September, 2010.

In early March 2011, another piece of good news came, SKF(China) Co., Ltd. formally informed Beiman Special Steel Co., Ltd that the result of material test was fine and it meets the standard of SKF3S products.

100Cr6/S130000 is the high-grade bearing steel that the nominated supplier of Schaeffler (China) co., ltd. ordered the quantity in the first time was 160 tons in Feburary, 2010 and it will go into the small quantity supply stage in September, 2011 after getting approval through test.

The smelting component hit-rate and inclusion qualification rate of 100Cr6/S130000 were 70.70% and 85.06% separately, and the overall qualification rate only reached 60.16%, which greatly limited the capacity growth and also led to substantial increase in technology costs.

In 2011, the project was listed as the key project by technology center, and had been worked out a more scientific, reasonable and good operational production process through instant guiding of technical staff, improving the quality of practice, collecting all the test data, and comparing and analyzing data based on relevant documents.

As statistics in the first quarter of 2011 showed, The smelting component hit-rate reached 93.10%, increased 22.37 percent compared with the last year, and two casts achieved 100% qualification rate. The inclusion qualification rate achieved 91.57%, improved 6.51% and even reached 93.94% in March. Moreover the shipment in the first quarter of 2011 is 1.73 times more than that of 2010. All these encouraging data suggested that the production capacity of high-grade bearing steel from Beiman Special Steel Co., Ltd has made tremendous progress
