Bearings and specialty steel maker Timken Co. spent $99,215 lobbying the federal government on defense, health care, labor and other issues in the second quarter.
That's down from the $150,270 it spent in the first quarter and the $118,700 spent in the same quarter a year ago, according to Congressional disclosure forms.
Timken lobbied the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on bills including the Employee Free Choice Act, which would make it easier for unions to organize, and the different provisions of the recent health care overhaul. It also lobbied on defense appropriations bills.
