The Timken Company (USA; NYSE: TKR) is helping defy a widespread industrial slowdown by leasing additional warehouse space in Lenexa, Kansas, for its rail bearing operations.
Timken Rail Bearing Service will now lease an additional 40,000 square feet of warehouse space on West 99th Street in the Oxford Square Business Park -- approximately half of the 85,000 square foot subdivided warehouse.
Timken acquired Rail Bearing Service in January 1995 and is the "global leader in bearing reconditioning for the rail industry, bringing new life to used bearings by replacing worn and damaged parts."
Rail already has a refurbishing operation on nearby West 106th Street in Lenexa. The division is headquartered in Mascot/Knoxville, Tennessee.
After improvements to the West 99th Street building are complete, Timken will move in March 2009.
