The world first 6RT-Flex 35 marine diesel crankshaft launched off assembly line, with its length of 4.766 meters and weight of 1.54 tons, this domestic independently developed crankshaft was delivered to Zhuhai for installation on September 2 by Suzhou Hengding Marine Heavy Industry Co., Ltd (HMH), which has filled the international gap in the relevant area.
In the past, only Japan and a few countries had the manufacturing capacity of combined crankshaft for marine diesel crankshaft, the international market was highly monopolized, meanwhile the annual import cost for crankshaft in China has amounted to $50 million in recent years, which has seriously impedimented to the development of China's shipbuilding industry due to the high price. However, the successful production of 6RT-Flex35 diesel half-combined crankshaft make China truly become a country who can produce high power & low speed marine crankshaft in the world.
According to the introduction made by Lin Yaowu, the chief engineer from HMH, the development and production of 6RT-Flex 35 marine diesel half-combined crankshaft is one of the goals for the corporate strategic development. What's more, the company plans to produce alloy steel marine crankshaft with high power, small size and high strength which has totally depended on imports before. Therefore, HMH extensively absorbs the domestic and international crankshaft manufacturing processing technology, especially established the research team to implement the technology barrier for 25 projects, and now it has completed 20 projects, thus to form a batch of crankshaft core manufacturing technology and industrial equipment supplying processing technology with independent property rights. Consequently, the design & application technology for ultra-small size of crankshaft R deep groove processing technology, small size & ultra-thin of crankshaft red technology, debugging crankshaft red hydraulic base platform, small size & low speed of marine diesel crankshaft finishing processing technology and wide-blade knife tool has reached the international level compared with other similar products, among which there are nine application patents, two invention patents and seven utility model patents.
Hengding Marine Heavy Industry Co., Ltd is a private enterprise in Changshu, which was established three years ago and mainly engaged in the production of modern marine power equipment parts. Since its establishment, HMH has grandually absorbed the domestic & international crankshaft manufacturing processing technology, in the meanwhile, HMH make cooperation with many domestic well-known universities and research institutes. Furthermore, the company also focus on the staff's business quality, self compiled "Crankshaft Finishing Processing Technology" and other materials. Generally speaking, some enterprise could only produce two or three crankshaft one year as for its complex processing technology and long processing time. However, HMH just took four months to produce 6RT-Flex 35 marine diesel half-combined crankshaft from accepting the order to launching off the assembly line. HMH has produced 11 marine crankshaft below grade S46 from this January to August with the annual order of 20 crankshaft, which has broke the domestic production record for marine crankshaft.
