The Overall Technological Level of Qinghai Railway Locomotive Steel has Reached the Domestic Leading Position

Recently, the projects of steel bearing for heavy freight and steel for new series of railway locomotive from XINING SPECIAL STEEL CO., LTD have passed the acceptance by the experts from Qinghai Science & Technology Department, and the overall technological level has reached the domestic leading position.

With the rapid development of the national economy, railway locomotive manufacturing industry in China has opened a new chapter in its history, meanwhile the manufacturing of railway locomotive has been completely overloaded and it could adapt the speed-up requirments, so new requirments for the key components of railway locomotive should be proposed. Thus, XINING SPECIAL STEEL CO., LTD has firmly held the development opportunities to engaging in the researching & developing of the steel bearing for heavy freight and steel for new series of railway locomotive since starting from the year of 2007. After the unremitting efforts of the researchers, they have developed the high-quality bearing steel for railway freight which with long life, high accuracy, low heat, low noise, high processing performance, lower process cost than the electroslag remelting and steel for the motor shaft, axle, gear, tow bar, bogie in the railway locomotive by adopting vacuum degassing segregation control, red hot metal against the short process, inclusion modification, oxygen-consumed, purity-improvement, grain refinement, heat treatment and other processing methods. The market share of railway bearing steel manufactured by XINING SPECIAL STEEL CO., LTD which has utilized electroslag remelting process and vacuum degassing process accounted for 80% of the whole country, which has the positive significance for promoting the development of high-speed heavy freight and rail transportation in China.

At present, XINING SPECIAL STEEL CO., LTD has totally produced 18,400 tons vacuum degassed bearing steel and a series of new railway locomotive steel since from 2009, the output value achieved 185.86 million yuan, and paid 31.58 million yuan profits & taxes with the significant economic benefits.
