It’s gotten to the point where some of us dread checking our email. Thousands of words come tumbling out at us every time we peek at the inbox. Somewhere among the spam-scams promising thinner thighs, mega-inheritances from long-lost relatives, and miracle cures, are the messages we want to read. But it’s tiresome sorting through the rest to find them. So, we don’t.
If your message is buried among those emails, that can be a problem. Fortunately, there’s an alternative.
“The statistics around text messaging are very strong,” says John McNamara, CEO of Ireland-based SendMode. “About 98 percent of SMS [text] messages are read within three minutes of receipt.”
So, if you have something important to say, and you can say it succinctly, it might make the most sense to say it in an SMS. And McNamara hopes you will use the SendMode platform to do it.
Contrast that with the stats for email: only about 22 percent get read. And, while not every phone is connected to email, every phone can get texts. “SMS is the only application that’s on every single mobile phone in the world,” says McNamara. “A lot of businesses, once they come on and start using SMS marketing, stick with it because they see it works very well.”
“We try to differentiate ourselves in a number of areas, such as price, service and the quality of our online platform,” he says. “When people sign up with us, we tend to keep the business because we invest a lot of time in all our customers.” He says that managers are available to assist customers 24 hours a day.
SendMode offers several text-related services, including the ability to send bulk texts via email, and social media management.
It currently serves 150 countries, primarily in the UK, Europe, Australia, S. Africa, and the Caribbean. SendMode is not yet available in the US.
