The Groundbreaking of a Joint Venture Steel Ball Facility

The groundbreaking ceremony for a new steel ball facility, a jount venture factory between Jiangsu Lixing Steel Ball Factory (Group) and General Bearing Corporation, was held on Feb 6. Covering an area of 10,000 squre meters, the new facility will specially produce steel balls for wind power generation industry when it comes online on April 28.

The total investment hit 8 million dollars, among which Jiangsu Lixing Steel Ball Factory takes 60% stake, and General Bearing Corporation, 40%.

The steel balls for wind power generation from Jiangsu Lixing Steel Ball Factory has been approved as the key innovations in 2008-2009 by goverment. The sales is expected to increase by RMB 200 million when it comes online.

Jiangsu Lixing Steel Ball Factory (Group) is a manufacturer of rolling elements for bearings. Located in Rugao City, its products are sold under the "Li Xing" brand in China and internationally. Founded in 1989 as Rugao Steel Ball Factory, it has grown to become the leading manufacturer of steel balls in the Peoples Republic of China.
