In the latest days, the final pilot test of the 1000 MW hydro-generator thrust bearing has been successfully tested by HEC, which marked that Harbin Electric Machinery Co., Ltd of Harbin Electric Corporation has brokethrough the key technology of the world largest hydro-generator thrust bearing, meanwhile made China take the leading position in reseaching & developing high-efficient 1000 MW hydro-electricity assembling units.

According to the relevant reports, the thrust bearing technology is the key technology which has to be solved for researching & developing 1000 MW hydro-electricity assembling units. Harbin Electric Machinery Co., Ltd chose many talented workers to cooperate, eventually completed all the difficult scientific & technological tasks of this subject after three years' hard working, and successfully developed elasto-metal-plastics thrust bearing & tungsten pad thrust bearing.

The performance of this 1000 MW hydro-generator thrust bearing developed by Harbin Electric Machinery Co., Ltd is quite well, at the same time, it has broken a lot of world records: the rated load is the world largest with 5,400 tons; the single area of tungsten pad thrust bearing is the world largest with 4,440 square centimeters; the single area of elasto-metal-plastics thrust bearing is 4,200 square centimeters, and it has adopted 250 tons of flexible fuel tank to support, which is also the largest elasto-metal-plastics thrust bearing structure in the global.
