Technical innovation: the motive force of development in Linqing bearing industry

The bearing industry, as one of the key industries in Linqing City, has experienced rapid expanding in the scale after decades of development, yet the industrial level still need improving.

For this reason, Linqing Municipal Government has carried out a series of activities to encourage bearing enterprises to adopt advanced production equipment and technology, increase value-added products and improve market competitiveness. Last year, a total of 33.81 billion yuan was invested in carrying out technological reforms and introducing new equipment and technology.

On March 27, leaders of Municipal Bureau of Commerce visited Liaocheng Lurun Bearing Co., Ltd., Shandong Halu Bearing Corporation Ltd., Shandong Bote Bearing Co., Ltd and other import and export enterprises for inspection and guidance, and promised to strengthen financial and policy support for their technical innovation and other key issues.

Shortly before, Linqing Municipal Government signed a cooperation agreement with Luoyang Bearing Science & Technology Co., Ltd for the establishment of Shandong branch of Luoyang Bearing Research Institute, which is expected to boost the development of bearing industry in Linqing City to a higher level. Luoyang Bearing Science & Technology Co., Ltd, specialized in developing high-performance bearing products for host machines concerning national economy and national defense construction, is currently the only bearing manufacturer in China with core technology of import substitution able to compete with foreign well-known manufacturers. 

Linqing Huachi Bearing Co., Ltd is another successful model for technical innovation, the automobile sealed bearings of which have entered foreign markets such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Southeast Asian region, etc. for high performance due to the investment in production lines and technology upgrading. "The sales in 2015 was more than 700 million yuan," said Pan Jinhai, Manager of Linqing Huachi Bearing Co., Ltd.

Currently, 85% of bearing enterprises in Linqing City has phased out the old machinery, applied CNC machine tools, with high-tech industrial output value accounting for more than 35% of the total output value.
