Taiho Kogyo Launch Engine Bearing Line in China
Taiho Kogyo Co.,Ltd has announced that they will begin to produce engine bearings in China. Also a facility upgrade will be carried out to strengthen the their existing factory in Yantai, Shandong province and another new factory is to be built nearby.
It is estimated that total investment for this expansion project will hit JPY1.2 billion. After this expansion, Taiho will increase their supply volume for Toyota Motor, Suzuki Motor etc. Also they start producing bearings for diesel engine for local enterprises. According to the man-in-charge of Taiho's Yantai factory, sales of both old and new factories may hit JPY2.7 billion in 2010, almost twice the figure in 2006.
New facotry will be built in Yantai Industrial Park where Taiho has gotten a piece of land, about 66,000 square meters in area. The first stage construction is a factory covering 12,000 square meters which are expected to be put into production in October 2007.
Additionally, an facility upgrade will be carried out in the existing factory to better meet the demand of local diesel engine producers. By the end of 2006, sales of the exsiting factory will reach JPY1.4 billion, 1 billion of which will be connected with local enterprises. The prospective new factory is built to produce petrol engine bearings for Japan-funded enterprises.
Taiho Kogyo Co.,Ltd is a Japanese producer for industrial products like engine bearings, formed bushings, thrust washers, gaskets, EGR valves and actuators etc. In 2002, Taiho acquired Yantai Chunsheng Plain Bearing Co.,Ltd, forming their Yantai factory.
