Strike at SNL Bearings' Ranchi Plant

SNL Bearings Ltd has informed the BSE that the workmen at Ranchi plant have gone on strike since October 15 demanding higher bonus and reinstatement of an employee suspended for indiscipline.

Despite continuous discussions with the workmen and the union to resolve the issue, the strike still continues.

The company has requested intervention by the Labour Commissioner's office to declare the strike illegal and advise the striking workmen to resume duty and restore normalcy and instruct the striking workmen to sit 50 m away from the main gate and not to obstruct officers, loyal workmen, suppliers, contract labourers access to the factory.

A joint meeting has been called by the Labour Commissioner on October 25.
