Steel Strips Wheels to Establish Additional Facility in Chennai

Steel Strips Wheels, the Punjab-based wheel rim manufacturer for passenger cars and trucks said it will establish an additional facility for truck wheel rims in its existing plant near Chennai. This new unit will have an initial capacity of 0.5 million wheel rims and would go on stream by March next year.

The new facility is coming up in order to cater to the massive requirement of Daimler Chrysler and Ashok Leyland. The company is already supplying wheel rims to Tata Motors and is already running at full capacity, thanks to the spurt in commercial vehicle market. As the company is seeing overall improvement in the requirement levels of wheel rims be it passenger cars or trucks. Eyeing huge demand, the company has decided to set up an additional facility for trucks in Chennai.
