The rotational resistance of slewing rings is essentially
determined by:
the rolling resistance of the rolling elements
the internal clearance or bearing preload
the friction of the spacers or the cage or cage segments
the seals.
The rotational resistance is also influenced by a large number of other parameters.
These include:
the preload and lubrication of the seals
the quantity of grease in the bearing
the manufacturing tolerances
the change in the internal clearance due to fitting
the deformation of the adjacent construction.
