SKF's new range of three video endoscopes are first line inspection tools, that allow technicians to visually assess the machine's internal condition without the need to disassemble, saving time and money.
"The new TKES 10 endoscope range from SKF, has been designed around the needs of technicians", says Steve Gething, Business Development Manager - Maintenance Products. "With a tip diameter of just 5,8 mm (0.23 in) and powerful variable LED lighting, the endoscope allows good vision of machine components in dark, normally inaccessible areas".
The entire range features a common display unit with a bright 3.5" backlit screen, with the capability of saving images and video and allowing transfer to a PC or sharing with others. Supplied with a standard 1 m (3.3ft) insertion tube, which is either flexible, semi rigid (bend to shape) or flexible with a steerable two-way articulating tip, the range is suited to numerous applications. All models are equipped with a side view adapter to allow inspections of applications such a pipe walls.
"A high resolution miniature camera at the tip of the tube, with up to 2x digital zoom, gives a clear and sharp full screen image. The tube can even be inserted into water and most lube oils, and has a high ingress protection level of IP 67," continues Gething.
To facilitate ease of use, the display unit is equipped with powerful magnets, and a tripod mount on the back, allowing the display unit to be used "hands free".
Each endoscope is supplied in a sturdy carrying case complete with all necessary cables, universal mains charger and cleaning kit.
