SKF Launches New Series of SKF-SNFA Super-precision Bearings at CIMT Fair 2009 in Beijing

Following last year's launches of two new series in the new generation SKF-SNFA super-precision bearings, SKF now announces the next three series for the demanding requirements in Machine tools, such as metal cutting & wood working machines, Electro spindles, high speed machining centre spindles, high speed milling spindles.


High speed angular contact ball bearing in B design: S70/S719(HX/S,HB/S)

These pre-lubricated bearings are particularly suitable for metal cutting and woodworking machines.

The bearings are high speed, ready-to-mount, sealed super-precision angular contact ball bearings in the S70..B (HX../S) and S719.. B (HB.. /S) series, characterized by high-speed capability, high stiffness, extended bearing service life, low heat generation & compact cross section.

These pre-greased and sealed super-precision bearings can prevent the problem of premature bearing failures resulting from contamination. Non-contact seals keep the grease in and contaminants out of the bearings, with low temperature rise and high speed capability.

To accommodate the diverse operating requirements of precision applications, bearings in these series are available with three contact angles and two ball materials; steel and ceramic. The bearings are manufactured to tolerance classes P4A & PA9A and accommodate shaft diameters ranging from 30 to 120 mm.

Those suitable for universal matching or mounting in sets are produced to three preload classes. The bearings are fitted, standard, with a seal on both sides. Bearings without seals (open version) are also available.

Double direction angular contact thrust ball bearing in BTW (2344) series:

These bearings were redesigned to meet the load, speed and stiffness requirements of modern machine tools. This new series is dimensionally and functionally interchangeable with the former 2344 (00) series.

The BTW series bearing consists of two separate angular contact thrust ball bearings that are mounted back-to-back. This new design, which does not use a spacer sleeve, makes mounting faster, easier and more accurate

The new design is also suitable for manufacturing upgrades, providing better control of preload and better control of contact angle leading to reduced noise and vibration levels. These improvements combined with the 60
