SKF Launches New Packaging Design For SKF Seals
The Chicago Rawhide seal brand, predominantly known as CR around the world, is being rebranded "SKF". This is in response to both customer requests for integrated solutions as well to the demands of an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
The Chicago Rawhide brand has begun the transition into the SKF mono-brand structure as part of the company's goal to create one global, universally recognised SKF shaft seal brand. Sealing products, employees and facility locations will remain unchanged and customers can rely on the same high levels of quality and service excellence they have come to expect.
"Ultimately, the combination of SKF and Chicago Rawhide knowledge will create a stronger global SKF brand," said Per Jacobsson, Director of Marketing Communications, SKF. "Our customers will benefit from the synergy of two of the world's most experienced bearing and seal experts, working together and sharing over 225 years of combined knowledge to provide effective solutions to escalating industry challenges."
The most visible signs of Chicago Rawhide's transition into SKF is reflected in product packaging, printed materials and signage and, during 2006, SKF changed to new packaging with a prominent blue and red SKF product brand mark in place of the CR logo.
Most of the new packaging includes four-colour CAD-generated illustrations to reflect advanced product technology. Packaging for seal products carry an updated and modernised green colour, providing a visual link to products previously sold under the CR brand. Certain well-known product names such as Scotseal and Speedi-Sleeve, will remain in the SKF product mix.
