SKF miniature ball screws feature internal recirculation inserts with excellent backdriving characteristics to promote smooth running and quiet performance. They enable precise positioning for a wide range of linear-actuation applications in the medical and pharmaceutical industries, including instrumentation, pumps, and XYZ assemblies, among numerous others.
Their design incorporates cylindrical nuts with a threaded end for easy mounting and optimized nut geometry. Less sensitive to misalignment, these ball screws exhibit high dynamic load ratings, provide excellent repeatability, and operate at reduced noise levels, compared with traditional tube types.
Miniature ball screws (SD Series) range in diameter from 8mm to 16mm and are available with leads from 2mm to 5mm and screw shaft lengths up to 2100mm. Nuts with 2 to 6 circuits can be specified. Options include corrosion-resistant materials and safety wire devices well-suited for medical applications.
All SKF ball screw assemblies can be equipped with accessories for screw shafts and nuts and can be supplied with necessary support bearing packages pre-assembled and ready to go. They can further be customized to provide application solutions with cut-to-length screw shafts, machined ends, and cylindrical or flanged nuts with preload or axial play.
