SKF India formally inaugurated its new, state-of-the-art facility at Haridwar, India. The factory, which is located about 214 kms from Delhi, will serve the growing two wheeler and vehicle aftermarket segment.

The factory set up with an overall capital outlay of INR 1500 million, utilizes state-of-the-art technology for manufacturing Deep Groove Ball Bearings for the automotive sector. Situated over an area of 10 acres, the new factory will have a production capacity of 60 million bearings annually when fully operational.
Reducing negative environmental impact and increasing positive impact in everything we do, so that the balance is increasingly positive - is a stand that SKF has consistently taken at all its facilities across the globe. The Haridwar factory is built to the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Green factory standards for energy efficiency where the architectural design, manufacturing processes and utilities are deployed to minimize the environmental impact. The facility contains a unique rain water harvesting system for better water conservation and utilisation in its premise.
The new factory will employ around 200 people when fully operational.
