SKF Fan Upgrade Services Improve Reliability and Minimise Costs
SKF, the leading knowledge engineering company, has launched a range of Fan Upgrade Services, enabling plant operators to reduce the total cost of ownership by increasing the reliability of heavy duty fans, lowering maintenance requirements and extending service life. The single-source multi-platform solutions comprise the latest generation of bearing, seal and lubrication technologies to offer a variety of fan upgrade options and components with an effective solution for any application.
With organisations under increasing pressure to meet productivity goals, fans and blowers are pushed to the limit. As a result, components such as bearings and seals are subjected to extremely high temperatures generated as a result of high speeds and friction levels, increasing maintenance requirements and downtime. The Fan Upgrade Services have been developed to minimise this risk, optimising fan uptime and enabling significantly higher application productivity levels to be achieved.
Within its Fan Upgrade Services, SKF offers a complete Total Fan Shaft Solution (TFSS), which includes a selection of self-aligning bearings, advanced housings, low friction seals and automated lubrication, combining to reduce fan bearing temperatures and maintenance costs. The solution uses proven SKF technology, including its low friction CARB toroidal roller bearings and Vogel centralised grease lubrication systems, which ensure that every bearing receives the right amount of the correct lubricant to minimise wear and extend service life.
