The permissible working temperature of SKF bearing Y-bearing unit mainly depends on the material contained in the unit bearings,and retainers, the seal materials, and the type of grease.
If the Y-bearing units run for long periods in the environment that the tempreture is over 70 degrees, the Y-bearing units with a cast-iron bearing is recommended as such bearing box can be added lubricant. And you should add it frequently.
The permissible working temperature range is as follows:
- The standard bearings: -20 to +110 degrees Celsius
- The standard bearings with Food Grade Lubricants (NTH, and NTR grease): -45 to +120 degrees Celsius
- The standard bearings that containing RIS insert on the stamped steel bearing box: -20 to +100 degrees Celsius
- The bearings for high-temperature environment, VA201 Series: -40 to +250 degrees Celsius
- The bearings for high-temperature environment, VA228 Series: -150 to +350 degrees Celsius
As long as the relative humidity of the storage room not more than 60%,and temperature changes little,the SKF bearingcan be stored for several years in the original package.
