Schaeffler Establish Partnership with Huarui Wind-Power
Dec. 8, the signing ceremony for strategic cooperation between Schaeffler Group and Huarui Wind Power Co.,Ltd(hereinafter refered to as Huarui company) held in Beijing.
Huarui company, the leading manufacturer of wind power generator in China, is formed in 2004 by Dalian DHI-DCW Group Co.,Ltd, with the aim of having their presence in wind power industry. Now, they have developed into the largest supplier for 1500kw wind power generator in China.
So far, as our backwardness in technologies, critical components of wind power generators, 1500kw and above, like electrical motor, gearbox, fan, electric control device etc, are mainly imported. And the most important parts such as slewing ring, bearings for fan and main shaft, are wholly purchased from foreign countries.
It's surpised many people that Schaeffler will cooperate with a company in the wind power industry. Before, they were hoped to appear in Chinese auto and aerospace industries.
"In fact, Schaeffler has worked in wind power industry for many years with world leading expertises." said Gou jianhui, general manager of Schaeffler China Co.,Ltd.
At present, Germany, Spain and Denmark take the leading position in capacity of wind power generator. Thus, for its Germany nationality, Schaeffler have superiority in designing and producing critical bearings for such generators. And they are the several suppliers who can produce bearings for wind power generator over 1000kw.
According to Han junliang, chairman of Huarui company, developing of bearings for large-sized wind power generator is still in its infancy in China. Although it's advancing, it takes a while for the domestic suppliers to be mature in wind power field. Han indicated that Huarui company aims to be a wholly independent supplier for wind power generator.
As was informed from local media, Schaeffler will provide Huarui company with 10 types of bearings by three times as both parties' first cooperation. About USD12.97 million is involved in the deal.
Today, annual output of Huarui company are 150. And this figure will be increased by 6 times to 1000 in 2010. Despite Huarui's consideration for domestic products, bearings for wind power generator over 1000kw is still a gap in Chinese bearing industry. So such parts will be supplied solely by Schaeffler in a long time.
