SCHAEFFLER has released the 'Generation C' deep groove ball bearings, which it says feature an improved contact geometry between the rolling elements and the ring raceways, making them ideal for electric motors.
According to Schaeffler, the Generation C deep groove ball bearings can generate 35% less friction and 50% less noise.
Schaeffler says efficiency, noise and vibration levels are key design and quality criteria for plant operators using electric motors. Energy efficiency is mostly determined by the power loss of the internal bearings.
