Following Lucas di Grassi’s celebrated victory in the Formula E world premiere in Beijing, Schaeffler and Team ABT are leaving no stone unturned to repeat the success in round two in Malaysia. The city street circuit in Putrajaya is located about 25 kilometers south of the capital Kuala Lumpur and with a length of 2.56 kilometers is clearly shorter than the track in Beijing. The temporary circuit was designed by the British architect Simon Gibbons, who had created the concept for some of the sports facilities of the 2012 Olympic Games in London as well.
For Schaeffler, the Asia/Pacific region has been an important market for decades. The company’s brands have been present in Asia for over 50 years. The Asian business activities are run from the regional headquarters in Shanghai that was established in 2007. With two branches in Kuala Lumpur and Sungai Nibong the Schaeffler Group is represented in Malaysia as well. In Formula E, Schaeffler is on the grid as the exclusive technology partner of Team ABT Sportsline and featured with its logo on the cars of Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi.
