Schaeffler and Porsche set on scoring points at Shanghai

Next weekend, the FIA World Endurance Championship will visit China. On the Shanghai International Circuit, the two Porsche 919 Hybrid cars will again be battling for victory in the top-flight LMP1 class. The Formula One circuit on the outskirts of the Chinese metropolis features wide run-off areas and fast straights. Therefore, high top speed will be crucial in the 6-hour race. Taking it easy on the Michelin tires will be another key to success on the rubber-eating track.

Schaeffler has consistently been investing in Asia over the past ten years and significantly expanded its presence in China. In addition to various Chinese manufacturing sites, Schaeffler maintains a fully equipped research and development center in the Anting Auto City near Shanghai. In an area of 21,000 square meters, it offers state-of-the-art equipment and an optimal infrastructure for diagnostic and testing activities. The commitment has been a great success: in 2013, Schaeffler was recognized for its products and developments in China with 35 awards, for example by General Motors or the Chinese manufacturers BYD Auto and Geely.
