PORTLAND, Ore., Aug 31, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Royal Bearing, Inc. ( www.royalbearing.com ), a leading wholesale supplier of industrial bearings with warehouses in Portland, Ore. and in Livonia, Mich., announces that it has acquired the entire inventory of unused machinery bearing spares of the General Motors transmission plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., which closed its doors at the end of 2010. Royal Bearing would like its customers to know that it has fully integrated the complete inventory purchase into Royal's extensive bearing database.
Acquired during the four-day auction at the five-million sq. ft. Willow Run plant, which was originally constructed as a B-24 bomber manufacturing facility during WWII, were a broad range of bearings from manufacturers such as Timken, Fafnir, Sealmaster, McGill, NTN and SKF, including many precision bearings.
"We are very pleased that we were the successful bidder in the GM purchase," said Clarence Hopkins, President of Royal Bearing Inc.
