Romax Technology will be demonstrating how to enable predictive maintenance as part of an in-depth, three-hour workshop taking place at Wind Energy O&M Forum Europe 20-21, January, Hamburg, Germany.
With an increasing focus on cost reduction for the operations and maintenance of wind energy, European operators are turning to companies like Romax to reduce the cost of running turbine fleets.
Industry analysts state that a considerable level of turbine downtime can largely be attributed to failures within the gearbox and main bearings. Romax are tackling this issue head on through a combination of gearbox expertise and software simulation and predictive maintenance technologies aimed at extending asset life and scheduling maintenance before failures occur.
At the Wind Energy O&M Forum Europe, Romax will be sharing its knowledge with the industry to solve key reliability issues through its experience in supporting owners and operators when it comes to increasing turbine reliability. By monitoring over 40 per cent of the UK’s offshore wind farms, Romax is able to use the data created from this to drive industry best practice. Drawing on Romax’s ability to solve big drivetrain issues, the workshop will cover monitoring, predicting remaining useful life, main bearing and end of warranty inspections.
Nigel Parlor, Customer Relationship Manager at Romax Technology said of the workshop: “We are delighted to be presenting our expert knowledge in wind turbine drivetrains to help the European operators maintain their fleet as cost-effectively and reliably as possible. The Wind O&M Forum has repeatedly been a meeting point for the best of the European industry, driving exciting debate and interaction between the key players, making it the ideal place to hold this type of conversation.”
Romax Technology will be joined by E.ON, Centrica Energy, WPD Windmanager, Vestas and Nordex amongst others, at the event.
