Rockwell Intros Linear Stages

Rockwell Intros Linear Stages

Rockwell Automation released the Allen-Bradley MP-Series line of integrated linear stages for OEMs and machine builders, targeting a range of load-carrying applications. The products are designed to be off-the-shelf replacements for proprietary designs, reportedly reducing time and costs of design, programming, and commissioning.

The stages are available in ballscrew and direct-drive linear-motor versions. OEMs can specify load and motion parameters via Rockwell Software's RSLogix5000 and Allen-Brady Motion Analyzer servo system selection and optimization software. These tools also enable configuration of the motion-control system that runs the stage. Stages are available in various force levels, multiple frame sizes, stroke lengths ranging up to 2 m, and linear velocities of up to 5 m/sec.

The products boast IP30 environment protection rating, with ruggedized features to prevent contamination and connector breakage. The exterior cable track is replaceable without disassembly. Stages operate without home or over-travel switches. They work with Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture.
