Centa will present Centaflex-R, a robust coupling for hydrostatic and hybrid drives, at this year's Bauma trade fair, which will take place in Munich from 19-25 April 2010.
The coupling was developed for extreme heavy-duty applications where the load is increased in line with performance.
The construction-machinery industry is showing a significant trend towards drive solutions that reduce consumption, emissions and noise.
Centa accommodates this trend with its robust Centaflex-R for torque ranges of 0.25 to 15kNm.
The flexible roller coupling was designed for ultimate heavy-duty applications and is suitable for use in hydrostatic and hybrid drives.
The Centaflex-R has a progressive stiffness characteristic.
With only minor stiffness under lower load, the torsional vibrations are shifted to ranges below idle speed.
It also suppresses annoying gear chatter.
The stiffness of the coupling gently adapts as the load increases.
With rollers of different lengths and quantities, the torsional stiffness can be adjusted to the particular application and torsional vibration within wide limits - ideal for drive solutions where the load is increased with increasing performance.
A temperature-resistant elastomer allows reliable application of the coupling in settings with high ambient temperatures of more than 100C (212F).
The roller coupling owes its high allowable energy loss to intensive inner and outer ventilation.
The HD-version features oil-resistant rubber rollers to meet the requirements demanded by extremely difficult applications.
