PACK ASIA 2008, is definitely timely, under 9th Malaysia Plan (2006-2010), aims to become a net exporter of food by 2010. Malaysia has a growing and impressive food processing industry which produces for the domestic and export market. This sector of industry growing in an average annual rate 8.7 % since 1991. Making it one of the fastest growing sectors in the resource based manufacturing industries. The government has placed great emphasis at its food processing and is providing incentives to food processors, and manufacturers in the form of import duty exemptions for raw ingredients and tax incentives to encourage in investment in infrastructure development to realize these objective RM11.4 billion has been allocated, a 70% increase compared to the allocation in the Eight Malaysia plan.
