Ohio's Absolute Machine Tool Signs Distribution Deal with Taiwan's Tongtai Machine & Tool

Lorain, Ohio-based Absolute Machine Tools says it has signed a deal with Tongtai Machine & Tool Co. to import and distribute Tongtai machine tools through its North American network.

Absolute Machine Tools provides advanced metalworking solutions and comprehensive services for production machining, mold/die machining, and production turning. The company's president Steve Ortner said the new partnership will expand his company's product offerings and allow it to target new markets.

Tongtai has been in business since 1969 and is currently the largest machine tool builder in Taiwan. It has a rich history in cooperating with Japanese machine tool builders for technology transfer and machine designs.

The Tongtai line of machine tools centers includes a full range of HMCs from 400 mm to 1250 mm pallets, an extensive array of CNC milling and tapping centers (standalone or with pallets), high performance VMCs, 5-axis trunnion-type machining centers, and a complete range of standard and multifunction turning centers.
