Japan-based automotive parts manufacturer NSK's two subsidiaries, NSK and NSK Precision America are planning to invest about $30.2m to expand manufacturing operations in Franklin, Indiana in the US.
The manufacturer is expected to equip and renovate the 160,000sqft facility and a 75,000sqft building at its 63acre corporate campus by 2016, to improve production with additional taper-rolling bearing lines as well as linear-motion equipment.
NSK Americas CEO Brian Lindsay said the company has been manufacturing in Franklin for over 20 years.
"I am delighted that we are still able to grow and develop new technologies and processes here in Franklin where we find a willing and qualified workforce together with extremely supportive state and local governments," Lindsay said.
The Indiana Economic Development has offered $225,000 in conditional tax credits and about $100,000 in training grants to the company based on its job-creation plans, while the city of Franklin is expected to offer tax abatement at the request of the Johnson County Development.
NSK and its subsidiaries produce and supply roller bearings, ball bearings, precision-ground ball screws and other automotive components for the industrial and automotive industries.
