No.2 Forging Press Line to be Installed at Huizhou Sumikin Forging Co., Ltd

Huizhou Sumikin Forging Co., Ltd., ("HSFC") a joint venture company established by Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. ("Sumitomo Metals"), Sumitomo Corporation ("Sumitomo Corp") and ThyssenKrupp Automotive ("TKA") for the manufacture and sales of forged crankshafts in China, will install a second forging press line to lift its production level to approximately 1.8 million crankshafts per year.

Outline of No.2 forging press line

(1)Investment Amount: Approx. 3 billion yen
(2)Production Facilities: 5,000 ton press line with associated equipment
(3)Production Capacity: 1 million crankshafts per year
(4)Start of Operations: January 2008

Huizhou Sumikin Forging Co., Ltd. produces crankshafts, chiefly for passenger cars to meet to both the expansion of the forged crankshaft market and the global strategies of auto makers.
