Cooperated with Chinese Academy of Science & Technology, Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group Corp. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as NHIC) has solved the technological puzzle in the crank steel smelting and casting in China, which improves the running of Chinese ships and gas engine locomotives to a new level and extends the service life of gas engine.
At the beginning of 2009, NHIC has cooperated with Shenyang Metal Institute of Chinese Science & Technology, developed the Computer Simulation of the Solidification Procedure of Steel Ingot Technology, explored the movement law of molted steel during the casting of special steel and put forward the best casting method, which reduce the flaw rate of the cast steel ingot to the lowest. In the end of 2009, the experiment succeeded and up to Mar. 24th, 2010, it reduced the steel ingot inclusion to grade 0.5 from the previous grade 2; the qualification rate of detection increased 3% to 5%. In the past, when the crankshaft blank was processed on the user receiver, accidentally, crack was found, and therefore, the user requested to return the goods or the product was scraped. After adopting the new technology, this kind of phenomenon never happened. Giving priority to this technology, the qualification rate of the special steel ingot of NHIC was improved from 95% to 99%, which will save about 16 million RMB for the company.
