GLEN ELLYN, IL -- The Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) has released a new Educational Services Committee (ESC) Report covering Planetary Roller Screws.
The report on Planetary Roller Screws explains that like lead screws and ball screws, planetary roller screws convert rotary motion into linear motion. However, the planetary roller screws have the advantage of higher static and dynamic capacities, increased rigidity, lower axial clearance, and higher limiting speed. In the planetary configuration, the rollers have a timing gear at both ends. The end result is a higher capacity without compromise. The report includes a chart comparing ball screw and planetary roller screw deflection.
Like all other BSA ESC Reports, Planetary Roller Screws is available free by downloading from the BSA website, www.bsahome.org.
