It was learned from Qinhuangdao Municipal Science and Technology Bureau that the national 863 "12th five-year plan" major science and technology programs of "the key technology development of high-power wind power bearing steel" was officially lauched in Yanshan University. Yanshan University will undertake the development of core and key technologies of the new steel of high-power wind power bearing steel and heat treatment process as well as the draftsmanship of the related national standards.
Bearing is the core component of wind power equipment. The harsh working conditions of wind power equipment and the requirement for long-life and high reliability makes the high technical complexity of the manufacturing of wind power bearing. If the study is successful, China will own the capability of producing over 5MW large yaw bearing, pitch bearing, blade spindle bearing steel etc.
