By the end of June, the Ministry of Science and Technology organized an expert group from the High-tech Center for on-site inspection for "key technology of large wind turbine bearing steel" and "high performance bearing technology" undertaken by LYC Corporation.
The Expert Group heard report concerning the subject contents including security conditions of apparatus, equipment and production lines and related administrative regulations, wind power bearing research and development, high-power wind power bearing test verification, etc.
They also visited the yaw pitch bearing production line, spindle bearing production line, heat treatment production line and wind bearing test equipment, reviewed product drawings, process specifications, test reports and other documents, listened to the reports on task performance, and proposed questions and discussions.
Finally, the group agreed that LYC had completed the research mission as assigned by developing the long-life high-power wind generator bearings, high reliability design and experimental testing technology, optimizing the high pressure lubrication and sealing structure, mastering the new material cold thermal processing, etc., and for the first time applying the hard bainitic heat treatment technology to bearing manufacturing.
Meanwhile, the 5MW wind turbine yaw bearings, pitch bearings and 6MW wind turbine spindle bearings developed by ZWZ all passed the experimental verification. Test results showed that the use of new materials in the high-power wind turbine bearing had met the design requirements specified in the task.
