Recently, LYC Company has cooperated with Beijing Central Iron & Steel Research Institute (CISRI) and completed the development of new material---high nitrogen corrosion-resistance bearing steel. Each index met the United States Aerospace Material Standards after the bearing performance test, which added a new member to China stainless bearing steel family, displayed the independent development capacity of LYC, and improve the key competition of LYC Company.
At present, China stainless bearing steel sometimes has unfavorable influence on the milling of bearing ferrules and ultra precision process. The development of nitrogen stainless bearing steel has been started in 80s in the last century aboard while it is still blank in the new stainless bearing materials in China so far. In March, 2008, the technology center of LYC Company has established the project team to develop the new type of stainless bearing steel and tackle the key problems on forging process and heat treatment process research. The project belonged to the research and development of new material and new process and there was no research material for reference. LYC Company invited CISRI to join in the development of new material and cooperated with a special steel plant for the industrial trial production.
Later, the project team of the metallic research institute of the technology center has started the research work of forging and annealing process. After a range of processing experiments, and analyzing experimental data, they got the metallographic organization, rigidity and variance of mechanical performance of the new steel, and finally they confirmed the parameters of heat treatment processing and constituted the heat treatment process curve of this material.
Recently, the first batch of products which utilized the new high nitrogen corrosion-resistance bearing steel was produced and passed the bearing performance test of 50 hours and 100 hours successfully and also passed the inspection and reception.
