Localization of C-type Metal Sealing Ring for Pressure Vessel of Nuclear Power Station

At 10:00 on September 26, a group of experts organized by the National Energy Administration and CNNC Nuclear Power carried out after-use inspection on the RPV metal C-ring for reactor pressure vessel developed by Ningbo Tiansheng Sealing Packing Co., Ltd.

The Group announced after 6-hour inspection that the RPV metal C-ring is in line with the safety standards of nuclear power plant, which means the successful localization of the very last key component for nuclear power plant reactor pressure vessel.

The inspection data showed that no leak during operation was seen in the flange sealing layer of Fangjiashan No. 1 unit reactor pressure vessel in Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant. The inner and outer rings of the Metal C-type seal ring suffered no damages, and the sealing line was uniform and consistent without any wrinkles and protrusions after a fixed cycle of use. 

So it was agreed that this seal ring is in line with the design and use requirements for its good sealing condition and reliable operation. 

Previously, only the United States was able to produce C-type seal ring for nuclear reactor pressure vessel.
